For her Fall 2012 – Haute Couture collection, the talented Yiqing Yin has chosen a number of photographies of artiste Bruno Aveillan’s latest issues published in MNEMO#LUX (Kerber Editions). After having printed them onto fabric through artisinal means, the designer has created a number of unique haute couture dresses. She declared, “At first, I was moved by the vibration of the light that emanate from Bruno’s pictures, which melt into celestial and mineral tones. That light, between dusk and dawn, evokes for me the mystery of a living and changing nature, of great purity, and which was also the image of the casual and contemplating woman that I imagined for this collection”. Playing with the brilliance of delicate light and chromatic transparence, the signature of Bruno Aveillan’s photographic work, she adds, “Sometimes fragmented, sometimes destructured in the heart of a fuzzy and misty drape, the muslin, extremely light, keeps from the picture an ethereal impression of density and wavering, just like in q dream. In the end, I loved the idea of the image becoming unfathomable and abstract, disappearing in the twirls of the dress, dressing this woman in an intangible secret”.
The result is simply dazzling!
