Matthieu Lavanchy

Matthieu Lavanchy was born in 1986 in Switzerland. After getting his photography degree from the ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) in 2008, he was awarded the "PhotoGlobal Prize" at the ITS festival in Trieste, Italy. The prize was a one year residency at the School of Visual Arts of New York. There, he pursued some personal works and started working on still life and set-related editorials for magazines such as Wallpaper*, PIN-UP or AnOther.

His work has been exhibited at the Prague Biennale (2011), the Art Cologne Fair (2010), and the Fotomuseum Winterthur (2009) among others.

Matthieu is the 2010 winner of the International Fashion & Photography Festival of Hyères, and received a Swiss Federal Design Award in 2011
