Born in Madrid in 1953, Javier Vallhonrat is renowned for his inspiring ability to capture the perfect light and composition in any shot.
His work can be found in publications such as Vogue Paris, Vogue UK, Vogue Italia, Vogue Nippon, Vogue China, to name a few. Vallhonrat has also shot well known celebrities including Tilda Swinton, Linda Evangelista and Jennifer Garner. And has been commissioned by luxury brands like Celine, Cerruti, Cacharel, Chopard, Lancome, Guerlain, Rochas and many more. Most recently he shot supermodel Bella Hadid for the latest fine jewelry Boghossian campaign.
Among his major solo exhibitions, his most notable have been held at the Pori Art Museum, Finland; the Montmajour Abbey, Arles, France; the Santa Monica Museum, Barcelona; the National Center of Photography, Paris; the Fundación Telefónica and the Canal de Isabel II, Madrid. Javier Valhonrat has been honored with numerous awards, including the 1995 National Photography Prize of the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Award of Excellence of the Society of Newspaper Design, USA, the Silver Award of the New York Times Magazine, USA, 1994, the 76th Art Directors Club Annual Awards, the Bartolomé Ros Prize Photo España 2007, the 2009 Villa de Madrid Award for Photography and the 2009 Madrid Community Photography Award.
