For this series of images, Javier Vallhonrat wanted to render visible the process which is implied in the creation of a photographic image. For which he worked in total darkness for a period of 6 months between 1990 and 1991, with only matches as a source of light, and utilizing long expose times.
The nature of the results shows that a degree of uncertainty has to be accepted as an integral part of this process.
